    American Esoteric Laboratories Inc, (AEL), is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our laboratory team.

     

    Position Summary: 

     

    Address sample and order issues with clients and any others necessary to resolve issues. Identify issues that seem to be reoccurring and report those to management. Performs clerical duties according to established protocols and processes specimens as necessary for laboratory testing.

     

    Principle Responsibilities:

     

    • Receives, identifies and accessions specimens using the standardized laboratory protocols to ensure an accurate and complete process.
    • Understands the importance of accurate specimen identification; matches label and individual specimen identifiers every time
    • Distributes specimens efficiently following established procedures for timely test performance.
    • Maintains positive professional relationships with all
    • Data collection or logging of information as requested by supervisor/manager
    • Communicates with AEL staff verbally in a professional and timely manner. Items that may require exchange include problematic specimens, special client requests, complaints or comments that require follow-up, interface anomalies or equipment failure.
    • In all communications especially when answering the phone, keep in mind you always represent the company; make sure all questions are addressed, even if this requires transfer to technical staff members or supervisors
    • Effectively work pending list of issues such as Ambiguous orders, Identification issues, Wrong and/or no specimen received for testing and specimens received without orders
    • Rotates responsibility for weekend and holiday assignments
    • Effectively knows the way to properly store specimens for the reference area; paying attention to specimen type, storage temperature and light requirements necessary to properly maintain the specimen for testing - person will become known as a subject matter expert
    • Performs related duties upon request of management

     

    Knowledge/Education: 

     

    • High School Graduate or Equivalent
    • Good written and verbal communication
    • Strong attention to detail and being extremely organized

    Experience:   

     

    Minimum of 3 years work experience in a laboratory setting as a Processor or equivalent experience as approved by management.

     

    Licensure, Registration, Certification:

     

    None

     

    Physical Requirements:

     

    Work requires light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% if the time) or continuous walking/standing (up to 50% during some shifts).

     

    Environmental Conditions:

     

    Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well-defined precautions for protection from injury or illness. The use of proper personal protective equipment is required.
